Should my employer give 60 day advanced notice before mass lay-offs as per WARN act?

Hi,

 

     Should an employer provide 60 day advanced notice when there are mass lay-offs( > 100 lay-offs per site) and if the employer has around 4000-5000 employees employed within the company? The employer was recently acquired by another company and as a result there are mass lay-offs.  Should this situation be covered under WARN act for immigrants?

That is labor law. Each state has different laws regarding what is considered mass layoffs.

The company HR would know about that. Violation of labor laws would result in stiff fines.
