It is legal to start working on receipt notice but wise to wait for approval as you might be in trouble if new employer's H1B petition is denied. Link to comment
nchhabria Posted May 8, 2014 Report Share Posted May 8, 2014 Yes you can start working based on the receipt number however there is always a possibility of it being denied (chances of denial are almost not there but you never know), so its best to wait till the decision arrives. Since its filed in premium you should get the results within 2 weeks. Link to comment
