Cap Exempt H1b Trasfer

Hi all,

 

I'm currently working at an University(Non-Profit organization). My H1b was filled under cap exempt in Nov-2012. 

 

Can I change job to work for a Non-cap exempt employer(Profit organization) and transfer my current H1B visa during any time of the year? or Do I need to wait for a new Cap season and start working only from OCT 1st?

You need to go under quota to work for a for-profit employer. Earliest will be next year April 2015 an employer can file a cap subject H1B petition.
