Mother B1 extension Review Pending - Can she travel back to India without approval

We have applied for a B!/B2 Visa extension 30 day prior to the Visa Expiry date. Its been 2.5 months now, USCIS case status is still at ,Initial Review'. Can my mother travel back to India without the approval/communication from USCIS. Please suggest as the Travel date is fast approaching.

Yes, she can. If she leaves after denial then her B1/B2 visa becomes void.

A valid visa is only required for entry. It is not required for exit.
