Aditarya
Hi, I am on H1B visa. Recently I accepted an offer from other employer. As per my offer letter four weeks advance notice is required. I am serving four weeks notice still my HR is saying that I need to pay bond amount. I have never signed any bond or agreement still HR is saying that I need to pay bond amount in lieu of notice period. Also, HR is saying that I will have to go back to India and serve 6 months of notice. I am not sure what is wrong with them. What are my options? Thanks. Link to comment

Ask a labor attorney to check your contract and reply to your HR accordingly. Link to comment

t75
Have your employment documents (including any employee handbook) reviewed by an attorney. Link to comment
Aditarya
Thanks all for the responses. I told my employer that my employment attorney wants to talk to them on this matter. Within an hour I got a reply from HR that no bond payment is required. I didn't know they are so much afraid of Attorney's. Thanks All! Link to comment
