Travel to India while OPT extension application is pending

I already have OPT which is expiring soon. I have applied for its extension, which has already taken 76 days.

 

My question is whether I can travel to India and come back during this time. I have valid visa and existing OPT is still valid.

 

I am asking since I faintly remember that ongoing OPT application may become void if someone travels during that time (but it may apply to original OPT only and not the extension).

Traveling during OPT is always risky. Moreover you got very less remaining time in your OPT.
