Petition Date and Passport Expiry Date dependency on H1 Transfer

HI,

 

I got my H1 in last year quota. It is approved till Sept 2016.

Right now I am planning for a H1 Transfer from employer AAA to BBB.

 

But, I have my Passport expiring in Jan 2015. Will this impact H1 transfer??

 

 

 

1) Can I apply for H1 transfer before Passport renewal???

 

or 

 

2) Shall I go ahead with passport renewal and then apply for H1 transfer.

 

 

I am worried if H1 Transfer or Petition Transfer will be dependent on Passport expiry date.

 

 

Please suggest the best way.

If H1B petition gets approved without passport renewal your I94 would be valid till passport expiry date.
