B2 Visa : Working Criteria

Hi All

 

One of my friend will be travelling to USA on B2 visa for definite duration of 2 months. He has job back in India & getting vacation of whole 2 months is not feasible. I understand, he can not work in USA & earn in USD on B2 visa, but, is it legal, to continue working remotely for company he works in currently, in India & getting paid in INR, in bank located in India?

 

If not, is there any other alternative, through which, he can continue working when in USA (apart from getting work visa), may be some different kind of visitor visa or any formalities/documentation along with B2?

 

Any help will be appreciated.

He cannot work on a B2 visa remotely. There is no other alternative other than not to travel to US.

He cannot legally work in the US unless on a guest worker visa. It does not matter where he is paid; it matters that he is working illegally in the US.

 

He needs to come for only the amount of vacation time he has.

Technically he is on leave when he is in US for vacation.

But during that time, he can open his laptop to check his business emails. But full time work?? I don't think he can.
