Gautham Pai
Hello, My Change of status from H4 to F1 is approved on 12th Feb and F1 status applicable from Apr 6th 2014 onwards. Due to personal emergency I had travelled to India between March 1st - March 15th I Traveled back to US on H4 visa. As F1 is applicable only from Apr 6th. I can see that My new I-94 number got changed with that of I-797A approval notice. Do you see any issue here? is I need to inform USCIS about this? Thanks Kumar Link to comment

t75
Since you had F-1 I94 in hand before you departed, you are OK. Had it not come before departure, you would have been assumed to have abandoned the COS and would need stamping or new COS. Timing is important. Link to comment
