ssammm
Hi,In my past, I had one arrest record (CIMT - IL state Class A misdemeanor ), court ordered supervision has been completed and now the case has been closed satisfactorily.Though pleaD guilty, its not a criminal conviction on my record but I guess it a conviction under Immigration law. That said, this is the one and only one haunting past, so mine qualifies for petty exception. Now the question is, my current L1 visa is getting expired and need to apply for L1 extenion. If I file an extension with USCIS will they do back ground check and pull out my record and raise any RFE about my case?Any help or guidance is much appreciated. Link to comment
2013lucky
L1 extension with conviction should not be problem as long as you do not misrepresent yourself. You may check with your attorney and he would ask you to include all the legal documents when you file application for extension. Good Luck Link to comment
t75
Always advise the attorney of any complicating factors. He/she can then address they up front and not be blindsided by what you failed to disclose. Link to comment
