Travel during F1 or travel during Opt??

Hi

  I have a question. My wife entered US on H4 visa and  currently studying at a reputed Univ on F1 visa. F1 visa stamping is yet to be done.

 

I am not sure of this question so thought of asking. 

 

we are planning to travel during this summer to India.

Is it advisable to travel to India during F1 or is it safe to travel once she is on OPT at a later point in time .....

Both are same.

Agree, both are same... The most important for F-1 visa interview is possession of a valid I-20. Whether you are taking courses or are under OPT period, you should have a valid I-20.

 

I personally waited until I finished my study in order to travel. I completed my program on F-1 status in May 2013 and OPT has started since June 1, I will be travelling soon.

 

OFcourse, there is a risk associated with any visa request, and that is something to keep in mind as well.
