OLD Address in the Passport for parents - is it a problem?

I am filling the forms for my parents and noticed that the address they have in the passport is not the current address. It was their old address where they used to live before my dad's retirement. Can someone please confirm whether it is necessary to change the passport address for first time visitor visa stamping? I am running short of time but if it's a must have, I will rather do that than a rejection. Or should I take my chances? Please help.
