Unfortunately I am leaving for India in a week and don't have enough time to get my passport renewed in the US. I will be going to the visa consulate to get my H1B stamped. Will I have a problem that my passport is expiring this year? Or will they still stamp it and I can come back and renew my passport? Thanks. Raj Link to comment

Passport must have a minimum validity of six months from the date of application of visa.Depends when you apply in your case. Apply on line. Probably they will not issue the visa if you don't comply.
