Travel Intrernationally while H1B Transfer Pending?

I'm about to begin an H1b transfer in order to move to another firm. My current H1b stamp expires in 2016. Two questions:

 

1) Am I allowed to travel to Costa Rica while the transfer is in process? Assume pre-notice of receipt or transfer approval

2) Once the transfer is approved and I begin with the new firm, if I travel internationally again in August, would I need to get the transferred H1B visa stamped? Or am I goo since the last H1b stamp is good till 2016?

2. You can use your old valid H1B visa and new employer's I797.
