Hello,

 

Can someone please clarify the process of paying the visa fees? Do we need to fill the DS-160 prior to going to the bank? Also what all documents need to be taken to the bank for visa fees payment?

Hi,

No need to Complete and submit the DS form, but you need to start the DS form. When started you get the application ID which will need to be used for scheduling an appointment.

Yes, a DS160 number is required to pay H1B visa application fee. A copy of your passport, DS160 confirmation page and in some cases they might ask a copy of DS160 application (rare)

Visa Processing using http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/index.html?firstTime=No

1)      First fill Ds-160 form.

Note: Don’t submit until decided, but will get Ds-160 Confirmation Number once we fill some info at Ds-160 form

 

2)      Create Profile using https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/?language=English&country=India

Try to update Profile along with Ds-160 Confirmation number and will get Collection fee to download for paying Visa Fee.

Use this Collection fee and Passport to pay the Visa fee at Axis/Citi Banks.

Note: HDFC feature was removed.

Anybody can go and pay visa fee at any Branch of any place.

 

3)      Until unless paid the Visa Fee we can’t see the available Visa Interview Dates.

4)      First we need to book the Visa Interview slot then secondly book the Finger print slot(Which should be booked one Day before the Interview date).

I will be interviewing in Delhi. Does the fingerprinting has to be on the previous day? I remember doing it on the same day last time unless the process has changed. Please advice.

You have to get the fingerprinting done at least a day before your visa interview.
