EAD renewal or new EAD ?

Hi

 

I am currently on L2 EAD.

 

My I - 94 and EAD expire on 4th march 2014

 

I have applied for new L2 visa from Canada the interview date is on 25th February 2014 and by the time I get my stamped passport it might be begining of march.

 

Should I apply for L2 EAD extension or should I apply for new L2 EAD. There are two reasons I am asking this question

 

1. I am applying after the expiration of my current EAD

2. Me and my spouse have applied for new L2 and not l2 extension.

 

Any help is appreciated .
