vinny.voona
Hello All, I am currently employed and will need sponsorship this year (2014). Is it a good idea to change employers before the H1B petition file date of April 1st ? I am concerned as I have less than three months to make the change (new job - new employer). The idea is to have my new employer sponsor me the job visa. Would changing employer just before H1B filing date result in any issues with regard to H1B processing/ approval ? Appreciate any advice/ suggestions.Thanks. Link to comment

No. Having said the above, an employer can file a H1B petition for you even if you are not working for them when the petition is filed. Link to comment
vinny.voona
I have a follow up question. I am guessing only one petition by one employer should be filed per candidate, correct ?!?!?! ... against the case of two employers (current and new) who might be filing for me this year. Multiple employers can file H1B petitions for you. Link to comment
