H-4 Marital Status and Visa appointment scheduling

Hi,

 

I have a couple of questions on applying for H4 visa. We're getting married in Feb, but we're submitting the DS160 for my fiancee now. What do we put down as the marital status in DS160? Is it single or married?

 

My fiancee is from Mumbai and we are planning for the visa interview in chennai. Is it possible? When I look at the scheduling appointment page in the website, it asks for a state of residence and automatically chooses the visa post. How do we get around this?
