Can I apply for visitor's visa while on H1B visa

Hello all,

 

I am on H1B visa status almost past 6 years and it's getting expired in two months from now. My company is not willing to apply for Green Card. I need to stay here for a few more months. Can I convert my status from H1B to visitor's visa at this point of time? If yes, please let me know the process. I really appreciate if someone could reply on this.

Yes, you can apply for a COS to B2 by filing I539 with USCIS along with supporting documents.
