shoplifting,proved not guilty,dismissed case and expunged

hello,

I am f1 student.i was arrested for shopliting on jan 28 2013 texas.I was given pre trail for 3 months  and later,i wasnt proved guilty ,so the case got dismmised.later i expunged the case.Now am travelling to indiA.Houston is my poe,Do i get any issues over der in poe?what all the papers i need to carry.I have my dismissal paper with me.

For immigration, nothing is ever expunged.

Having the court disposition with you is a good idea.

Expungement does not matter for immigration. You have to acknowledge arrest. Always travel to US with copy of your court documents.

Don't worry, Only speak truth in DS-160 form. Don't misrepresent. Speak the truth when Visa Officer asks about the incident. But speak only to the point. Dont give too much information.

and keep his ( her ) business card with you.

 

if the office needs to go into more detail your lawyer will speak on your behalf. 

 

i have learned this while helping a friend thru a sad situation.
