Puerto Rico is part of the US.

Travel to Puerto Rico is the same as travel to New York City, Boston, Miami, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Honolulu.

Ask yourself, do you need a visa stamp to travel to Los Angeles?

If not, then you don't need one to travel to any other location in the US, including Puerto Rico.

Yes, as JoeF said, one does not need any thing special to travel to PR and come back to mainland US. I was there back in April 2013. TSA agents just checked my DL

I am in same situation as you and I came across your question here. Can you please tell me what happened? Can I travel to Puerto Rico with just the approval letter & a DL & my passport with no visa stamped in it ?

Haven't you read my answer???
