I am on H1B Can I sponsor my sister for visiting visa?

Hello,

 

  I am working here in USA on H1B visa. I want to sponsor my sister visiting visa. But we have found an issue after I checked her passport. I don't know how one letter of  family name on my passport and her passport differs. Does that cause an issue when she attends an interview at US Consulate in India? Can I even sponsor my sister when I am on H1B?

There is no sponsorship involved for a visitor visa to US.

Both passports should be in legal names.  Fix the one that is incorrect.

A visitor visa does not need sponsorship.

AFAIK, H1B candidate cannot sponsor any type of visa since he/she is not a citizen.

None at all.

There is no sponsoring for visitor visas. Never has. Don't listen to rumors or posts on some bad forums where clueless people post.

And sponsoring for a GC requires the person to be a US citizen or an LPR.
