Filed I-130 and I-485 for spouse when Visa date is current but rejected by USCIS

I  am a permanent resident and I filed  I-130 and I-485 concurrently for my spouse and when the Visa Date was current. Package was received by USCIS on Sept. 30th when date was current but they opened the package on Oct 1st when date was no longer current. As per USCIS website the date received in mail room is the date that needs to be honored. What can I do? Can I appeal? Can Murthy law firm help me? Thanks.
