Hi,

My wife attended VISA interview on June 6th 2012. she got 221G (administrative query regarding Marriage) later application was rejected with 214BThe reason why she got the query is "she told that i am her first cousin". Its common in India to marry first cousin. I came to know in some states of USA its not legal to marry first cousin. Now I am at Nebraska,

The immigration officer has asked her to give it in writing that she married to first cousin, how long will this details available in their system.

when she called again to appear after issuing 221g the immigration officer said she was rejected with 214b & advised to apply for tourist VISA. Is this the only option for me to get her into US or is there any other better option.

Thanks,

Kalyan

She will not be able to get an H4. Marriage to a cousin may be common in other countries, but as you found out, it is illegal in most of the US.

With a visitor visa, she can only visit once in a while, she can not live here.

I suggest you explore career options outside the US.
