robst340
Hello. I'm graduating from my college in few weeks with a BA degree (undergraduate) and I sent all the required documents for the 12-month OPT application. My current passport was valid for about 5.5 months from the date it was sent, which was a few days ago. On my college's website regards to the OPT application, the requirement for the passport was just its current validity. Then I noticed that some other colleges' international student office websites specifically state "at least 6 months from the future". Upon further web surfing, I found the specific criteria for "valid passport" was not as clear. Many simply say the passport has to be valid while some say students have to apply passport renew at least before 6 months. How strict is USCIS on this rule? Link to comment
