Hi,

 

I am an F1 student. I transfered my sevis from my old school to new school on nov 14th . and my new school has a mini session (short semester which is of 6 weeks) started on 21st. I registered for classes for mini session. now can i drop off from mini session and register for winter (starting on jan6th).

 

Will it effect my status if i do that. Kindly advise..

Why would do this?  Finish the classes.

You cannot as you will be considered out of status.

contact your International center administrator. he/she can give you advice. ussually an international student can be out of status for 3 months.

You can do that if you take semester break. best thing to do is , contact your DSO and take official advice.

OP is in middle of his mini semester. No semester break is allowed.
