jsamyuktha
Hi, I am currently in India on holidays. I have a valid H4 till May 2014. I also have an admit for MS in Santa Clara University for March Spring 2014. I would like to change my visa status to F1. My husband H1b is also valid only till May 2014. He has applied for his green card EB2 , its in the 1st step labour certification. 1. Is it a better option to obtain a F1 and get stamping from India or to be in US and cos to F1? 2. If from India , can you let me know on the process? 3. If COS to F1 when in US , can I know about the process? Link to comment
t75
You do not have time for COS. Get stamping and enter properly. Link to comment
livliv
Either option is feasible. But remember that if you choose change of status option, you will have to obtain F1 Visa whenever you leave the US in future anyway. F1 Visa application process is just like any other. You will need to obtain I-20 from your school first. Link to comment
quantbuff
Agree with T75 get your stamping done before you enter US. Saves you a lot of hassle of COS Link to comment
