H4 filing on my own!

Hi,

The first 3yrs of my H1B is going to end in Jan-2012. My company is applying for H1B Extension. However, My company want me to file H4B for my dependents on my own(They are not willing to pay).

What are the alternates ?

- Can I file for H4B on my own?

+ Do I have to wait for my I797A before doing it.

- I am planning to visit India in December. If I decide to extend my vacation and stay till jan-2012, and If my I797A comes by that time, then, can I go to embassy with them and get my new H1B stamped and their H4B
