H1B extension and visa requirements

Hi

 

I am currently on B1/B2 with stamping for 6 months til jan-15.

If i get a H1b permit do i have to leave usa and get visa stamped or can i just continue staying.

Since quota is closed, any new filing is not possible until April 2014 doer Oct 2014 start. If it is exempt, you will need to maintain valid status until H1B valid date.

It sounds like you need to review USCIS documents about your rights and responsibilities otherwise you would not have posed such a basic question.

 

Illegal presence can get you banned for as much as 19 years. Do NOT overstay.

Interesting. How would you get H1b? The earliest your prospective employer could file new H1b is on or after Apr 1, 2014.
