Status of J1 Visa Waiver

Hello,

 

I am writing in regards to my wife's J1 visa waiver. The entire application packet was received by the DOS on August 23, 2013 and a favorable recommendation (on the basis of No Objection) was recorded as "sent" on September 23. However, we haven't received the waiver yet (or receipt of the recommendation being sent to USCIS). We have been waiting for over a month now, which seems unusual based on what I'm reading in forums.

 

Should I be concerned about this delay? Also, is there any way I can verify the status or expedite the process?

Did you receive case number from USCIS? If so, check your case status on their website. Usually USCIS is quick, but sometimes it can take upto 4 months.

If you didnot received any case number from USCIS, better call them to verify if they received your application.
