J1 waiver and DV lottery

Hi,

This is Dr.Saksham Sulove. I am a Nepalese citizen married to an Indian citizen.I am a physician and am doing my residency(final year) on a  J1 visa. My wife is on a J2 visa. She is also a physician but is trying to get into a residency(she is taking her USMLE steps now).

I have to apply for a J1 waiver for my further job that I would start in July 2014 after I graduate.Also,the DV lottery for 2015 is open and the last date to apply is Nov 2nd.Should I go ahead and apply for that too,with me as the primary applicant(as my wife would not be eligible to apply being an Indian citizen)?Would this affect the J1 waiver process at all?

Is there an easier way for my wife to get an EAD(as she would be an H4 when i am on H1 from next year).And she would not be able to work on an H4 if I am not mistaken,unless she gets into a J1 sponsoring program.

First, citizenship is irrelevant. Country of birth is what matters for the DV lottery.

Applying for the DV lottery doesn't affect anything.
