H1 transfer no SSN /Paystubs

Hi ,

        I was on H4 last year and I got my H1B approved this year with company X, because of shutdown I am not able to apply for SSN. I am not sure if paystubs can be generated without SSN.

 

I have offer from Company B who is willing to transfer my H1,  but I dont have any paystubs nor SSN.

 

My Question:

1) WIthout SSN did my H1b start ?

 

2) Can paystubs be generated without SSN? How is employee paid in this scenario?

 

3) I am looking for contracting job with company X, but because of not having SSN things are going slow. How long can I look for job before having H1b validity issues?

 

4) Would I be asked for paystubs if I do H1 transfer to company B ?

The H1 started. You need to get paid, even without having the SSN yet.

Modern payroll systems can handle that scenario just fine.
