Hi Everyone,

I had an appointment for US H1b visa stamping at Toronto US consulate 10th Oct at 9am. I heard- "you qualify for the visa".

Questions:

1. Are you currently employed in US? I said no. I am/was on business.

2. What was your Masters degree? answered.

3. What was the thesis? answered.

4. My latest stay in US was for 5 months on B1/B2 as my wife and kid also stay there. I told this when asked about what were you doing for so long on business in US.

5. What do you do or what would you do?

Just mentioned the role. (did fumble a bit but :))

The VO looked at my passport thoroughly. All US visa stamping till date. I had a H1 10 years back. I have valid B1/B2 and bunch of other stamping and travel.

I think every case is different. Many people fear going to Toronto, which seems incorrect. I saw Indian American, African American, Chinese American and others behind the counter. They are there just to validate the truthfulness of the case.

To some extent- A bit of how well you are prepared, the luck on that day and the mood of the VO and number of applicants might matter.

Thanks to everyone who add their experiences and not only problems in forums.

request others to payback in the form of writing their experiences.

thanks again to folks at Murthy and other folks who spend few mins answering on the forum.
