desigun
folks, I just wanted to share my recent experience of renewing my H1B visa at chennai through the Drop Box process. It was quite straightforward and i was surprised that not many documents were requested, in spite of my preparedness in taking a fat bundle of docs. Documents Requested: 1 Pass port size photo (US visa requirement - no shadow) Drop Box confirmation sheet DS160 Confirmation Sheet I797 Copies of current and the previous one Current Passport My finger printing had been done in 2011, and i qualified for the drop box, because i was renewing for the same employer. I submitted on Sep 30, Monday morning ( no appointments needed) and had my confirmation email received by Oct 3, evening. My preference was to pick up from the Team Stanley office at Cenotaph Road and i was asked to provide a copy of any Govt. issued ID and i had my US Driver's license as the proof of identity. My passport was stamped and that's it!!! a relief!! Overall very streamlined process and just thought of sharing my experience in this forum.. Good Luck... Link to comment
