6 weeks for LCA

Hello,

My new employer is working on my H1B transfer and he said he filed the LCA. Per him, it takes 6 week to get approval. I am not sure about his statement. This is prior to DOL shutdown. I understand with shutdown it will take longer. I was under impression that LCA generally take 7-10 business days. Please let me know what you guys think.

yah typically it takes a week or 2...I maybe wrong or your employer maybe correct.

Prior to the shutdown, once an LCA is filed, it was taking about 1 week for the DOL to process. Perhaps your employer meant that it took that long to both prepare the LCA for filing and obtaining the approval? (Although, that still seems like an awful long time...)

 

Please note that LCAs aren't really taking "longer" during the shutdown -- rather, they are not being processed at all, and likely won't be until the shutdown ends.
