B1/B2 to H4 conversion in USA

I am a girl married recently.I came to usa on a B1/B2 after marriage. My husband holds a H1 b. we are thinking to apply for H4 here in the US. We dint have enough time to get H4 in my home country , so i came on a visitor's visa to usa .Could some one let us know if I could get it done here? what are the pro's and con's .
