But OP DID get a H1 Transfer Approval mail (I believe from USCIS)...not sure about the current policy...but during my times I didnt used to get any Transfer approval mails. So he should be good.

I don't know whether OP's H1 is already approved or not. He was asking whether to join after getting approval or hard copy.

 

Like I said , after approval. It doesn't matter it's email confirmation or actual hard copy. JOIN NEW EMPLOYER ONLY AFTER THE APPROVAL.
