How much GOLD can we take to India while travelling (Goldbar/Jewelry)

Hi to all,

              In India is there any new Law or Custom duty tax - charges for GOLD bar or Gold Jewelry limits? How much Gold Jewelry we can bring from India to US and how much we can take from US to India, in Gold bar or Jewelry.

              Can anyone please explain the accurate procedure to follow for H1-B visa holder or Green Card holder or US Citizen carrying Gold to India, If India custom officer holds at Airport asking to pay custom dusty for gold Jewelry is that true we need to pay for custom duty.

               Is there any form that we need to fill while visiting India with Gold from India Government?

Check Indian customs and US customs website for information. If they ask you to declare and pay customs duty then by law you are bound to pay or else they would confiscate your gold.

If India custom officer holds at Airport asking to pay custom dusty for gold Jewelry is that true we need to pay for custom duty.

 

Ofcourse you'll have to pay them...by law...they wont be happy with chai pani.
