Canada Visa period

Hi all,

Can some one please let me know for long we get the canada Visiting visa if apply the purpose of visit as

1. H1B interview

2. as Tourism/visit

3. someone inviting me.

Until your passport expiry date.

They don't give visa validity based on visit purpose.

Until I-797 end date or your passport end date which ever comes first.

I applied for a (multiple-entry) visa in 2011 for tourism and I got a 3 year visa

I see different length of periods. Not sure what was the exact reason in the decision process, but my colleague got 1 year for multiple-entry. His friend also got 1 year for multiple-entry. I got around 3 years & 4 months for multiple-entry.
