Hi,

I came to US on F1 visa and later got my H1b in 2007. I went to Mexico to get my first H1b stamping in 2008. My 6yr H1b term expires this Sep 30 2013 and I already got another 3yr extension until 2016 since my I-140 is approved. My question is:

Can I go to Canada/Mexico to get my visa stamping? I've read somewhere that I have to go my home country (INDIA) since my last H1b stamping was done in Mexico.

Appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

You can go to Canada/India/Mexico. I think even jamica.

For the 1st time H1B stamping, we should not go to Mexico.

Are there any other countries apart from the above 4, to get our visa stamped?

If you change from one visa to another you can not go to Mexico. Renewal of same visa can be done there.

Incorrect

I changed from F1 to h1 (1st time h1b stamping) in Mexico

Unless you were out of status, there is no rule. If you think there is, posit it here.

I think now the rules have changed, previously they used to issue visa for candidate from F1 to H1
