PhillyMan Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 If I am to be asked to be a co-sponsor for a green card, how may I best protect my personal information from (1) both the applicant / spouse of applicant (who is the the sponsor) and (2) INS staff not related to this case to minimize potential for identity theft. Not keen to provide copies of tax returns and personal balance sheet thanks
JoeF Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 You can't. And this can not be canceled, so if the sponsored person becomes a public charge, you are on the hook. If you are not comfortable providing the necessary information, then don't sponsor a person.
