Last week I successfully renewed my H1B in Merida,Mexico.

I am in FT model ( NO CLIENTS , VENDORS etc) and it is big company but name is not that renowned.

More than 8+ years in H1B.

Visa officer was nice and these are the questions asked:

1. Where do you live in US?

And:  XYZ

2. What does your company do?

And: Explained in one line.

3. What kind of work you do?

Ans:  Software Engineer.

4. What kind of software you develop for your company?

Ans: Explained in brief.

5. Are you working for a client ?

Ans: No

6. How many years in H1B?

Ans: 8 years.

7. So, your current employer is relatively a new one?

Ans: Yes.

8. How long you have been working for them(current employer)?

Ans: 1 year.

9. Did you work for this employer before? (Checked the petitioner name is my most recent expired H1B visa stamp in passport)

Ans: Yes.

10: How many employees in your current company?

Ans: Around 2800

11. So, they are pretty big .

12. How long is your contract?

Ans:  I am full-time employee and its a permanent position.

VO was satisfied.

He said your visa is approved and asked about my return flight to US. Gave me a white slip and asked me to collect passport on the same day at 4 PM. But he said they cannot guarantee and but will try their best to get it ready on the same day by 4 PM.

Went to the consulate at 4 PM but due to heavy workload on that day, it was not ready. Asked me to collect it at 4 PM next day.

Got it next day at 4 PM.

Visa officer didn't asked for any documents other than Passport, I-797 and I-129 , which are mandatory for H1B.  I had all documents W2,Paystubs, Employment letter, bank statements etc.

There was another H1B candidate who successfully got visa with no additional documents asked.

At POE also no issue.
