prasd99
Hi all, My H1b has already been stamped. I am living in a european country and I will be getting the nationality of a european country in the next 2-3 mths. But I already got my H1b visa stamped and have to join my job in Oct this year. I would ideally like to take the citizenship and get H1b visa stamped on the european passport and then join after October. However my new company would like me to join in October this year. If I get my european passport while I am in US will I be able to come back here and get H1b stamped on european passport or would it mean a new H1b petition as its a new nationality. Please advise. Thanks in advance Prasd Link to comment

JoeF
Visas in old passports stay valid, but you would have to have a bit of explaining to do at the border if you show up with your new passport and the visa in an old passport from another country. So, the best thing would be to get a new visa in your new passport. The H1 petition stays valid in any case, since it is about a person, not about the nationality. Link to comment
