Apply for OPT on MS degree while in PhD program

Hi,

I graduated from the MS program in 2011 and currently pursuing a PhD. I want to apply for an OPT on my Masters degree so that I can start a job. 

 

I am currently past the 60 day limit after the completion of my MS.

You need to apply H1B for working.

You said you are doing Ph.D. So why do you wanna work in middle of Ph.D??

That's not possible.

You are studying, so the possibility of OPT for MS is over.

You could get pre-completion OPT while studying in the PhD program. That would be 20 hours/week max during classes, and 40 hours/week during summer recess. That's for internships.

If you want to drop out and start working, you would need to get an H1.
