H1b transfer from non-profit to profit

Hi all,

I'm working for a university which will be sponsoring my H1 and should be CAP exempt. Now, if I want to change my employer and work for a profit organisation, can they transfer my H1 or will they have to apply for a new H1B. Also, will I still be have the CAP exempt.

No, they can not. Since you are not subject to cap when working for an university you will have to wait for your for profit organization to file a H1B cap subject petition in April 2014 with a starting date on October 2014.
