H4 or B1?

Guys, 

Help me out with my situation: 

My H1B Extension is in process (Filed a while ago, waiting for Approval).. My wife is in India and is doing PhD in IIT. 

She has to attend for a US Conference (Which she an Invitation from the Conference Organization). 

Would it be advisable for her to go for B1 stamping instead of H4 , as i don't know how long it takes to get my H1B Extension approval. 

Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

P.S: She wants to come as a dependent after finishing her PhD (i.e., Some time in next year).

It is better for her to enter now with a B1/B2 visa

If your wife is doing her PhD from IIT..then you probably will be on her dependent on her EB1 application :)

Get in touch with an Attorney once she completes PhD to find out if she qualifies for EB1 or EB2/NIW
