puruda
I am applying to *** (San Jose) in the MBA program and want to change my status from H4 to F1 so that I can undertake internships. I am also planning to travel to India soon. I would greatly appreciate if someone could answer few questions that I have regarding H4 to F1 conversion. 1) Once I my I-20 from school, should I directly take my i-20 to India and file for F1 from there (since I will be there anyways) or apply for a change of status first here in US and then get stamping done when I travel to India? 2) If my F1 gets rejected, what happens to H4 visa (which is valid upto mid 2014). Do I need to apply for a fresh H4 or I can re-enter the country on my current H4? 3) I previously hold a bachelors and masters degree from US, can this be an issue in getting another F1? 4) If F1 gets rejected, can I apply for COS after returning back to US? Thank you. Link to comment
jairichi
(1) Yes, it is better to apply for a F1 visa in India as COS from H4 to F1 might take 2.5 months (2) If F1 is rejected you can enter US with your valid H4 visa (3) Nope, as long as you can justify with VO (4) Yes, you can. rahul412
Do not join this school , find another school . For more details just do a search in this forum about that school. Link to comment
JoeF
Stay away from ***. They are shady. An F1 is for studying, not for "taking internships", which seems to be a new way of saying CPT... Link to comment
