I am already on H1b and my visa is going to expire september 2013, so before its expired I am planning to apply for Mexican mexican visa and then book a visa slot in Mexico Tijuana.

Can you please help me with the steps? how to apply for mexican visa and then booking a visa slot for H1B.

Thanks,

I have changed my visa appointment from first week of oct to 10th. And decided to go for Vancouver.

10th Oct: Normal process

1. At Gate they verify if you really have an appointment, if so they ask for documents (Passport and I797)

2. Gate security screening (No sealed covers, No large bags), and then you are allowed to enter into the Office in that building

3. Security check line in airports, you have to put all your belongings in a tray, that will go through a scanner.

4. Present your Passport and 797 and a photo, they keep those docs and give you a queue number. And i believe this is where they verify everything including PIMS

5. Once you see your number on screen for counter 1, you will be asked for finger prints, and then they give your docs back, PP and 797 and the ds confirmation, if they did not find PIMS, then they will write it on ds confirmation page, like 'PIMS not available'

6. they you will have to wait for your number again for actual interview which is on 20th level of the building, security will escort you, you are not supposed to operate the elevator, if you want to use rest room you can before entering into that elevator, 20th level does not have any such facility

7. On 20th level, again wait for your number to be displayed with counter number

8. I Was called, and questions to me were

  a. How long you been working with your employer 'xyz'

  b. What do you do ?

  c. He was not satisfied with my answer, so drilled into my job work saying ... 'I under stand web application part, but where do you do that ? (address)' what does that website do ? The address you just said, is that you client address ?

  d. asked for 1 year paystubs, 11 and 12 w2 filings and lca

  c. Finally said your VISA is approved, it may take 3 to 5 business days to see you case updates. Have a wonderful day

As i my interview schedule was around thanks giving and 3rd Wednesday of month holiday for US Consulate, my case took longer time to process and issued.

But finally i got passport from loomis and now back to USA.

Thank you to murthy forums and its generous member who shared their information/knowledge...
