Hi

I am at present on H4 visa I want to ask can I apply for Change of status from h4 to f1 this Sep when my husbands h1b extension is in process .

My husbands h1b expires in feb2014 and so does my h4. His office has applied the extension of his h1b on 1 aug. I plan to apply COS H4 to f1 on 6 Sep 2013 In this case will my f1 get rejected for that reason.

Also I read in forum that if h1b extension comes before my f1 is approved then I will have 2 status change against my application . Is this true ? Is is not safe to apply now h4 to f1 when my husbands h1b extension is in process ?

Are you the same person? Or where are you getting the "2 status change" stuff from?

H4 is dependent on H1 - Yes

For extension, both are independent. Every H4 application related to H1, needs to apply for extension.
