New H1B Italian citizen (need visa stamp) - can you request expedite?

I am an italian citizen currently on Post-completion OPT "Cap-Gap" extension until my H1B kicks on October 1st 2013. I wanted to make an appointment in Canada to have my new H1B visa stamp since my F1 visa stamp expired in February 2012.

 

What is the usual turnaround time for H1B stamping after a sucessful interview in Ottawa? is it possible to request during the interview that the passport stamp be expedited (either have the passport picked up later in that day or next morning)?

I can justify with letter from my employer in California that I must return to work as soon as possible, the only reason for my travels to canada is to have my passport stamped for future business travel that may be required.

No. you can't request expedited process.

It takes 2 to 3 business to get your passport.
